Project Details
QA completed two significant projects for the Roberts Hall Dormitory. The first project involved ADA sidewalk improvements, including the installation of new sidewalks, concrete ramps, and stairs. The structural design required an extensive foundation, and we also installed stainless steel handrails and guardrails. This project addressed two key areas: ramps, stairs, and sidewalks on the east side, and the ramp for the breezeway on the west side of the building along 21st Street.
The second project entailed the abatement and replacement of 181 windows and the demolition and installation of 83 doors, all of which needed to be completed during the summer break. Scaffolding was erected around the building to provide access to all windows. Given that the building is considered historic, extensive pre-construction coordination was required to select a window system that closely matched the appearance of the original windows.
