Project Details

The Michener Center for Writers required an ADA-compliant classroom for their classes. Located in the historic Frank Dobie House, the project initially aimed to repurpose a salvaged garage on the property. However, due to the building’s condition, it was necessary to demolish the existing structure and install a new building.

The scope of work included constructing a new concrete foundation, wood framing, and floor and paint finishes. We also installed a new HVAC system, AV system, and completed the necessary electrical work. Additionally, the parking lot was reconstructed to ensure ADA-compliant access to the new building.

The completed building now serves as a Seminar Room, providing a space for readings, classes, and faculty events. It offers a relaxing environment with a natural backdrop, enhancing the overall experience for all users.
