University of Texas Littlefield Patio Cafe

The Littlefield Patio Café has undergone a transformative renovation in three distinct phases, which included adding a new coffee bar, revamping the serving line, and updating the patio area. Over the past year, the café has experienced two major renovation phases. Despite the modern updates, effort was made to preserve and integrate the site’s historical features into the new design.

The building’s historic floor has been patched with salvaged tiles sourced from the new underfloor utility trench, while architectural elements such as decorative corbels, original doors, and windows have been preserved. The outdoor space has been completely redesigned to provide UT students with a dynamic environment for learning, dining, and relaxation. The new design features a blend of contemporary concrete and steel elements, complemented by native landscaping, creating a harmonious balance between modern functionality and historical charm.
